The Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Raman Deka, today inaugurated a 12-bedded, state-of-the-art Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur.The newly established facility, functioning under the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, has been dedicated to the people of Chhattisgarh.
The Respiratory ICU is equipped with advanced facilities, including bedside bronchoscopy, dialysis support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) services, advanced ventilator systems, and enhanced infection control measures. The unit has been designed to provide comprehensive tertiary care to patients suffering from severe respiratory illnesses.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor appreciated the Institute’s continuous efforts in strengthening tertiary healthcare services. He lauded the dedication and commitment of the medical fraternity and encouraged them to continue their noble service with greater zeal and compassion. Highlighting the remarkable progress made in healthcare infrastructure since Independence, he noted that mortality rates have significantly declined due to improved medical facilities. He remarked that the nation is progressing steadily in various sectors, including healthcare, engineering, and space, and emphasized the vital role of doctors in nation-building and the importance of good health for national development.
The Hon’ble Governor also stated that discussions are underway with the administration to explore the possibility of establishing an additional AIIMS facility in Naya Raipur. He further underscored the need for a dedicated Cardiac Care Center in Chhattisgarh.
As a gesture of goodwill, Shri Raman Deka gifted 42 multifunctional printers to AIIMS Raipur. These printers will enhance the efficiency of patient registration, OPD services, routine patient care, and administrative functions across various departments of the Institute.
Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor for his esteemed visit. He stated that the newly inaugurated Respiratory ICU fulfills a long-felt need and will significantly strengthen pulmonary critical care services in the region. He also conveyed sincere appreciation for the generous contribution of printers, which will substantially support the Institute’s operational and administrative efficiency.
The event was attended by senior faculty members, administrative officials, paramedical professionals, and staff of AIIMS Raipur. The inauguration marks yet another significant milestone in strengthening advanced and accessible healthcare services in the state of Chhattisgarh.
छत्तीसगढ़ के राज्यपाल श्री रमेन डेका द्वारा एम्स रायपुर में अत्याधुनिक 12-बेडेड रेस्पिरेटरी आईसीयू का उद्घाटन
छत्तीसगढ़ के राज्यपाल श्री रमेन डेका ने आज अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (एम्स), रायपुर में 12-बेडेड अत्याधुनिक रेस्पिरेटरी इंटेंसिव केयर यूनिट (आईसीयू) का उद्घाटन किया। यह नवीन स्थापित सुविधा, पल्मोनरी मेडिसिन विभाग के अंतर्गत संचालित होगी तथा इसे छत्तीसगढ़ की जनता को समर्पित किया गया है।
रेस्पिरेटरी आईसीयू उन्नत सुविधाओं से सुसज्जित है, जिनमें बेडसाइड ब्रोंकोस्कोपी, डायलिसिस समर्थन, एक्स्ट्राकॉर्पोरियल मेम्ब्रेन ऑक्सीजनशन (ECMO) सेवाएँ, आधुनिक वेंटिलेटर प्रणाली तथा सुदृढ़ संक्रमण नियंत्रण व्यवस्था शामिल हैं। यह इकाई गंभीर श्वसन रोगों से पीड़ित मरीजों को समग्र तृतीयक स्तर की चिकित्सा सेवाएँ प्रदान करने हेतु विशेष रूप से डिज़ाइन की गई है।
इस अवसर पर माननीय राज्यपाल ने तृतीयक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को सुदृढ़ करने में संस्थान के निरंतर प्रयासों की सराहना की। उन्होंने चिकित्सक समुदाय की समर्पण भावना एवं प्रतिबद्धता की प्रशंसा करते हुए उन्हें अधिक उत्साह और करुणा के साथ अपनी सेवा जारी रखने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने स्वतंत्रता के पश्चात स्वास्थ्य अवसंरचना में हुए उल्लेखनीय विकास पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि बेहतर चिकित्सा सुविधाओं के कारण मृत्यु दर में उल्लेखनीय कमी आई है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश स्वास्थ्य, इंजीनियरिंग एवं अंतरिक्ष सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में निरंतर प्रगति कर रहा है और राष्ट्र निर्माण में चिकित्सकों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका तथा राष्ट्रीय विकास के लिए उत्तम स्वास्थ्य की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने यह भी कहा कि नवा रायपुर में एक अतिरिक्त एम्स स्थापित करने की संभावना पर प्रशासन के साथ विचार-विमर्श चल रहा है। साथ ही, उन्होंने छत्तीसगढ़ में एक समर्पित कार्डियक केयर सेंटर की आवश्यकता पर भी बल दिया।
सद्भावना के प्रतीक स्वरूप श्री रमेन डेका ने एम्स रायपुर को 42 मल्टीफंक्शनल प्रिंटर भेंट किए। ये प्रिंटर संस्थान के विभिन्न विभागों में मरीज पंजीकरण, ओपीडी सेवाओं, नियमित रोगी देखभाल एवं प्रशासनिक कार्यों की दक्षता बढ़ाने में सहायक होंगे।
एम्स रायपुर के कार्यपालक निदेशक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) अशोक जिंदल ने माननीय राज्यपाल के गरिमामय आगमन के लिए हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि नव स्थापित रेस्पिरेटरी आईसीयू लंबे समय से अनुभव की जा रही आवश्यकता की पूर्ति करता है तथा क्षेत्र में पल्मोनरी क्रिटिकल केयर सेवाओं को सुदृढ़ करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा। उन्होंने प्रिंटरों के उदार योगदान के लिए भी आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि इससे संस्थान की संचालन एवं प्रशासनिक दक्षता में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि होगी।
इस कार्यक्रम में एम्स रायपुर के वरिष्ठ संकाय सदस्य, प्रशासनिक अधिकारी, पैरामेडिकल कर्मी एवं अन्य कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे। यह उद्घाटन छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य में उन्नत एवं सुलभ स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में एक और महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि है।
