The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur held its 16th Convocation Ceremony with grandeur and academic pride at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. The distinguished occasion was graced by Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Adviser to the Defence Minister, Government of India, and former Chairman, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), as the Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Suresh Haware, Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Raipur. Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, members of the Senate and Board of Governors, faculty, administrative officers, parents, and graduating students were present in large numbers.
Upholding its legacy of academic excellence, the Institute conferred degrees upon 1,382 students, comprising 1,055 Undergraduates, 278 Postgraduates, and 49 Doctoral awardees. The Chief Guest, Special Guest, Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Director felicitated the Gold and Silver Medalists of various disciplines for their outstanding academic performance.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Director Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao extended heartfelt gratitude for their presence and described the day as a moment of great pride for the Institute. Introducing the Chief Guest, he lauded Shri Manoj Sinha’s journey as one of perseverance, visionary leadership, and transparent governance. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy in advancing India’s indigenous defence capabilities and motivating the nation’s scientific community.
In his Presidential Address, Dr. Suresh Haware described the convocation as a defining milestone in the students’ academic journey and hailed NIT Raipur as one of the country’s finest centres of learning. He emphasized that the true measure of success lies in continuous learning and selfless service. Urging students not to fear mistakes but to learn from them, he invoked Swami Vivekananda’s timeless exhortation — “Uttishthata, Jagrata” (Arise, Awake) — inspiring graduates to remain alert, disciplined, and action-oriented. Commending the leadership of Director Prof. Ramana Rao, he described him as a visionary and sincere academic leader, and conveyed best wishes to all graduates for a purposeful future.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy congratulated the graduating students, describing them as the happiest group for having reached closer to their dreams. Highlighting India’s technological and research advancements, he noted that the nation now ranks third globally in research publications and patent filings. Reaffirming the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India), he underscored the role of youth in driving innovation, startups, and self-reliance. Citing the success of Operation Sindoor, he lauded India’s transformation from a defence importer to a global exporter, and urged students to dedicate their creativity and intellect towards strengthening the nation’s progress.
Delivering the Chief Guest Address, Shri Manoj Sinha expressed pride in being part of NIT Raipur’s 16th Convocation and congratulated all graduates, parents, and faculty. Describing education as a lifelong pursuit, he advised students to cultivate curiosity, embrace risk-taking, and lead with innovation. He highlighted India’s rapid growth as the world’s fourth-largest economy and home to over 111 unicorn startups valued at more than 350 billion dollars. He stated that NIT Raipur’s 1,382 graduates represent the spirit of Viksit Bharat through their intellect and determination. He further shared five guiding principles for success — lifelong learning, problem-solving, courageous innovation, teamwork, and adaptability — and called upon teachers to mentor students in curiosity, ethics, and creativity.
In the second segment of the ceremony, Director Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao presented the Institute’s Annual Report, highlighting key academic and research achievements. Degrees were then formally conferred upon the graduates and doctoral recipients. The Convocation concluded with the administration of the oath and the rendition of the National Anthem, marking a proud and emotional culmination to a memorable day that celebrated achievement, inspiration, and national spirit at NIT Raipur.

राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (एनआईटी) रायपुर का 16वां दीक्षांत समारोह पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय सभागार में गरिमामय और उत्साहपूर्ण वातावरण में संपन्न हुआ। समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में जम्मू एवं कश्मीर के माननीय उपराज्यपाल श्री मनोज सिन्हा तथा विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में रक्षा मंत्री के वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार एवं रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) के पूर्व अध्यक्ष डॉ. जी. सतीश रेड्डी उपस्थित रहे। समारोह की अध्यक्षता बोर्ड ऑफ गवर्नर्स के अध्यक्ष डॉ. सुरेश हावरे ने की। निदेशक प्रो. एन. वी. रमना राव, सेनेट एवं बोर्ड ऑफ गवर्नर्स के सदस्य, प्राध्यापकगण, अधिकारीगण, अभिभावक एवं स्नातक विद्यार्थी बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थित रहे।
संस्थान ने अपनी शैक्षणिक उत्कृष्टता की परंपरा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए कुल 1,382 विद्यार्थियों को उपाधियाँ प्रदान कीं, जिनमें 1,055 स्नातक, 278 स्नातकोत्तर और 49 डॉक्टरेट (पीएच.डी.) विद्यार्थी शामिल रहे। इस अवसर पर कुल 54 पदक — 27 स्वर्ण और 27 रजत — विभिन्न शाखाओं के मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को प्रदान किए गए। बी.टेक कंप्यूटर साइंस एंड इंजीनियरिंग की आर्या श्रीवास्तव को संस्थान का सर्वश्रेष्ठ छात्र पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ।
समारोह का शुभारंभ निदेशक प्रो. एन. वी. रमना राव के स्वागत भाषण से हुआ। उन्होंने सभी विशिष्ट अतिथियों का अभिनंदन करते हुए कहा कि यह अवसर संस्थान के गौरवशाली इतिहास का स्वर्ण अध्याय है। उन्होंने मुख्य अतिथि श्री मनोज सिन्हा को समर्पण, पारदर्शिता और जनसेवा की भावना से युक्त एक दूरदर्शी नेता बताया तथा विशिष्ट अतिथि डॉ. जी. सतीश रेड्डी की देश की स्वदेशी रक्षा क्षमता को सुदृढ़ करने में निभाई गई महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका की सराहना की।
अपने अध्यक्षीय संबोधन में डॉ. सुरेश हावरे ने एनआईटी रायपुर को देश के श्रेष्ठ प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थानों में से एक बताते हुए विद्यार्थियों से निरंतर सीखने और ईमानदारी से समाज की सेवा करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि सफलता का रहस्य निरंतर आत्मविकास और सृजनशीलता में निहित है। विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने स्वामी विवेकानंद के संदेश “उत्तिष्ठत, जाग्रत” (उठो, जागो) का उल्लेख करते हुए अनुशासन, परिश्रम और कर्मनिष्ठा का पाठ पढ़ाया।
विशिष्ट अतिथि डॉ. जी. सतीश रेड्डी ने कहा कि भारत आज आत्मनिर्भरता की दिशा में तीव्र गति से आगे बढ़ रहा है और प्रधानमंत्री के “विकसित भारत” के दृष्टिकोण को साकार करने की दिशा में कार्यरत है। उन्होंने बताया कि भारत शोध प्रकाशनों और पेटेंट दाखिल करने में विश्व में तीसरे स्थान पर है और युवा वर्ग नवाचार, स्टार्टअप एवं अनुसंधान के क्षेत्र में नई क्रांति का नेतृत्व कर रहा है। उन्होंने ऑपरेशन सिंदूर की सफलता का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि भारत अब रक्षा उपकरणों का आयातक नहीं, बल्कि आत्मनिर्भर निर्यातक देश बन चुका है।
मुख्य अतिथि श्री मनोज सिन्हा ने कहा कि यह दिवस संस्थान के गौरव और उपलब्धि का प्रतीक है। उन्होंने स्नातकों से आजीवन सीखने, जोखिम उठाने और नवाचार की भावना को अपनाने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने बताया कि भारत आज विश्व की चौथी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था है और यहाँ 111 यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप्स हैं जिनका संयुक्त मूल्यांकन 350 अरब डॉलर से अधिक है। उन्होंने स्नातकों से विकसित भारत के निर्माण में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाने का आग्रह करते हुए सफलता के पाँच सूत्र साझा किए — आजीवन सीखना, समस्या-समाधान, निडर नवाचार, टीमवर्क और परिवर्तनशीलता। उन्होंने शिक्षकों से विद्यार्थियों में जिज्ञासा, नैतिकता और सृजनशीलता का संचार करने का आह्वान किया।
समारोह के प्रथम चरण में स्वर्ण एवं रजत पदक विजेताओं को मुख्य अतिथि, विशिष्ट अतिथि, अध्यक्ष, बोर्ड ऑफ गवर्नर्स और निदेशक द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया। द्वितीय चरण में निदेशक प्रो. एन. वी. रमना राव ने संस्थान की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की और स्नातक, स्नातकोत्तर तथा पीएच.डी. विद्यार्थियों को उपाधियाँ प्रदान कीं। समारोह का समापन शपथ ग्रहण और राष्ट्रगान के साथ हुआ, जिसने इस ऐतिहासिक दिवस को एक प्रेरणादायी एवं भावनात्मक रूप में पूर्ण किया।
