एम्स, रायपुर के तत्त्वावधान में राजभाषा प्रकोष्ठ द्वारा भारतीय समाज के महागाथा के लेखक एवं ‘उपन्यास सम्राट’ मुंशी प्रेमचंद जी की 145 वीं जयंती मनाई गई।

इस अवसर पर प्रो.(डॉ.) एली महापात्र, अधिष्ठाता(शैक्षिक) मुख्य अतिथि एवं अन्य विशिष्ट अतिथि डॉ. मृत्युंजय राठौड़, प्राध्यापक, शरीर रचना विज्ञान विभाग, डॉ. राकेश कुमार गुप्ता, अतिरिक्त प्राध्यापक, पैथोलॉजी एवं लैब मेडिसिन विभाग द्वारा उनकी प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण एवं श्रद्धा-सुमन अर्पित किया गया तथा दीप प्रज्वलन कर इस कार्यक्रम की शुभ शुरुआत की गई। 

कार्यक्रम में प्रेमचंद जी का जीवन परिचय एवं उनके प्रमुख कहानियों एवं उपन्यासों के बारे में संस्थान के छात्र-छात्राओं, संकाय सदस्यों, कर्मचारियों एवं अधिकारियों के समक्ष सारगर्भित व्याख्यानों की प्रस्तुति की गई। कार्यक्रम में  प्रेमचंद जी के उपन्यास ‘प्रतिज्ञा’ एवं उनकी कहानी ‘पूस की रात’ के सारांशों की प्रस्तुति के माध्यम से उपस्थित छात्र-छात्राओं, संकाय सदस्यों, कर्मचारियों एवं अधिकारियों को प्रेमचंद जी की प्रमुख रचनाओं को पढ़ने हेतु प्रेरित किया गया जिससे हिंदी भाषा के प्रति युवाओं का रूझान बढ़ें। 

इस कार्यक्रम में प्रेमचंद जी की प्रमुख रचनाओं से संकलित सूक्तियों पर भी चर्चा की गई जिससे व्यक्तित्व परिष्कृत हो और प्रगतिशील समाज की नींव रखी जा सकें।

 इस विशिष्ट अवसर पर संस्थान के एमबीबीएस छात्र-छात्राओं द्वारा नुक्कड़ नाट्य रूपांतरण प्रेमचंद जी की कालजयी उपन्यास ‘गबन’ की प्रस्तुति की गयी। जो हमें यह सोचने पर विवश कर देती है कि कैसे एक साधारण व्यक्ति परिस्थितियों के वशीभूत होकर नैतिक मूल्यों से समझौता कर बैठता है। 

मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में अधिष्ठाता (शैक्षिक) महोदया प्रो.(डॉ.) एली महापात्र ने दर्शक दीर्घा में उपस्थित लोगों से ‘हिंदी साहित्य के अमूल्य धरोहर एवं महत्त्वपूर्ण विचारों को विलुप्त होने से बचाने का आह्वान किया’। उन्होने सभी संकाय सदस्यों, कर्मचारियों एवं अधिकारियों से अस्पताल में नैतिक वातावरण पर विशेष बल देने का आग्रह किया। उन्होने संवेदना को व्यवहार में लाने पर विशेष बल दिया। संस्थान के अस्थि रोग विभाग के प्राध्यापक एवं विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो.(डॉ.) आलोक चंद्र अग्रवाल, ने मुंशी प्रेमचंद जी के कहानियों के माध्यम से कहा कि उनके पात्र युग के हासियें पर खड़े होकर समय के बदलाव की मांग करते है। साथ ही उन्होंने पंच परमेश्वर कहानी के माध्यम से अलगू चौधरी एवं जुम्मन शेख के माध्यम से नैतिकता का पाठ पढ़ाया। 

कार्यक्रम के अंत में उपस्थित लोगों के मध्य प्रेमचंद जी से संबंधित प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता का भी आयोजन किया गया एवं उन्हें पुरस्कृत किया गया। कार्यक्रम का संचालन सुश्री निधि जयसवाल, कनिष्ठ हिंदी अनुवादक द्वारा किया गया। इसके साथ ही साथ इस कार्यक्रम के आयोजन में सहायक के तौर पर शिवानी कुमारी जी भी रहीं। 

 इस कार्यक्रम का समापन डॉ. राकेश गुप्ता, अतिरिक्त प्राध्यापक, पैथोलॉजी एवं लैब मेडिसिन विभाग ने इस कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित सभी गणमान्य अतिथियों एवं सभी संकाय सदस्यों, अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों एवं छात्र-छात्राओं को धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया।

 MUNSHI PREMCHAND JAYANTI AND HINDI WORKSHOP ORGANIZED AT AIIMS RAIPUR

On 31st July 2025, under the aegis of AIIMS Raipur, the Rajbhasha Cell celebrated the 145th birth anniversary of the legendary writer and the ‘Emperor of Novels’—Munshi Premchand.

On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Eli Mahapatra, Dean (Academics), graced the event as the Chief Guest, along with other distinguished guests: Dr. Mrityunjay Rathore, Professor, Department of Anatomy, and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Professor, Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine. 

The program commenced with floral tributes and garlanding of Munshi Premchand’s portrait, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp.

The event featured insightful talks on Premchand’s life, his major stories and novels, presented by students, faculty members, staff, and officials of the institute. 

Summaries of his novel ‘Pratigya’ and short story ‘Poos Ki Raat’ were shared to encourage participants to read Premchand’s works and to cultivate interest in the Hindi language among the youth.

The program also included a discussion on notable quotations compiled from Premchand’s key writings, aiming to refine one’s personality and contribute towards building a progressive society.

A special highlight of the event was a street play adaptation of Premchand’s timeless novel ‘Gaban’, performed by MBBS students of the institute. The performance compellingly portrayed how an ordinary individual, under the pressure of circumstances, can compromise on moral values.

On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Eli Mahapatra, Dean (Academics), appealed to the audience to preserve the invaluable legacy and profound ideas of Hindi literature, and urged all faculty, staff, and officers to foster an ethical environment in the hospital. She emphasized the importance of empathy in practice. Prof. (Dr.) Alok Chandra Agrawal, Head of the Department of Orthopedics, highlighted how the characters in Premchand’s stories, standing at the margins of their time, call for social transformation. Referring to the story ‘Panch Parmeshwar’, he illustrated the lesson of morality through the characters of Algu Chaudhary and Jumman Sheikh.

Towards the end of the event, a quiz competition based on the life and works of Premchand was conducted, and winners were felicitated.

The program was compered by Ms. Nidhi Jaiswal, Junior Hindi Translator, with Ms. Shivani Kumari assisting in organizing the event.
