The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, in collaboration with the Department of Good Governance and Convergence, Government of Chhattisgarh, and Transform Rural India (TRI), is hosting a two-day workshop on the Green Economic Transition Mission (GETM) on 10th and 11th July 2025. This ongoing workshop is aimed at equipping key government functionaries and stakeholders with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to steer Chhattisgarh toward a greener, more sustainable economic pathway.

The workshop was inaugurated by Smt. Richa Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary – Forest, Government of Chhattisgarh; Shri Arun Kumar Pandey, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests; Shri Anirban Ghosh, Managing Director, TRI; and Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur. The program is run by Dr. Pranith Kumar Roy and Dr. Rajeev A, Program Directors from IIM Raipur under leadership of Prof. Satya Siba Das, Dean (External Relations).

The two-day event is designed to deepen understanding and action around green value chains, climate finance, and governance innovation. It includes interactive sessions on the Odisha Green Economy Value Chain Study, climate finance mechanisms, and applied design thinking for green governance. Faculty from IIM Raipur and experts from TRI and Bharat Design Lab are facilitating the sessions.

As the workshop continues, participants are engaging in case-based learning, group exercises, and roadmap development tailored to Chhattisgarh’s green economic priorities. The GETM initiative aligns with India’s national and international climate commitments including the Panchamrit goals and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The workshop will conclude with a valedictory session on 11th July 2025, led by Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh, along with senior officials and faculty from IIM Raipur.

Through this initiative, IIM Raipur reaffirms its commitment to policy engagement, sustainable development, and capacity building for public systems in India.
