  An MoU was signed between Shree Cement Industry and District Administration Balodabazar-Bhatapara in the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in his office located in the assembly premises here today.Shree Cement will buy 10 metric tonnes of cow dung daily to promote the use of green energy instead of coal. 

Through this MoU, consent to purchase cow dung has been given to Shree Cement Industry established in the Simga development block of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district . It is noteworthy that, cow dung will be used along with coal as an additional fuel resource to heat the furnace. Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Collector Balodabazar-Bhatapara Mr. Rajat Bansal and Mr. Ravi Tiwari of Shree Cement were also present on this ocassion.

Officials informed that cow dung will be collected from Chandi and other places, in the vicinity of Shree Cement industry. 10 metric tonnes of cow dung will be supplied daily from 16 villages within a 15-kilometer radius of the cement industry. So far, 38.8 metric tonnes of cow dung has been supplied to the company.

There are 07 cowsheds in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district with 1739 animals, out of which 04 cowsheds are located in Simga development block, which is at a distance of 20-25 kms. There is a possibility of supplying 6 metric tonnes of cow dung per day from these cow shelters. There are about 95 villages near the industries in the district, which have an estimated Eighty thousand cows.

It is worth noting that, new innovations in the use of cow dung are coming to the fore influenced by the Chhattisgarh government's Godhan Nyay Yojna. Along with making vermicompost, lamps and pots from cow dung, natural paint and electricity are also being produced in Chhattisgarh. Now, In an eco-friendly initiative, Shree Cement industry of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district has decided to use cow dung as an additional fuel resource.
