At the online programme organized for the transfer of grant under Godhan Nyay Yojana from his residence office, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel released the amount of Rs 2 crore 37 lakh to the cow dung sellers, villagers, gauthan samitis and women self-help groups. This includes the transfer of Rs 2 crore 6 lakh to the dung sellers and the transfer of dividend share to gauthan samitis and women groups. In his address to the programme, Chief Minister said that vermin-compost and super compost produced from cowdung in gauthans has become a strong alternative to the chemical fertilizers
Referring to the shortage of chemical fertilizers, especially DAP, in Kharif season 2021, Chief Minister said that when there was a shortage of chemical fertilizers in the entire country, Chhattisgarh state met the shortage of DAP with vermi compost, super compost manure made in Gauthans. He added that the DAP shortage is likely to continue in the near future as well. He appealed the farmers, Gauthan committees and women self-help groups of the state to promote the production of vermicompost, super compost to meet this shortage.
In the program, Managing Director of Godhan Nyay Mission, Dr. S. Bharti Dasan informed that Rs 111 crore 56 lakh has been paid so far to cattle rearing farmers in lieu of cow dung procurement under Godhan Nyay Yojana. Till date, Rs 41 crore 65 lakh has been paid to the Gauthan committees so far. So far 10 thousand 564 Gauthans have been approved in the state, out of which 07 thousand 751 Gauthans have been built. He informed that 9 lakh 6 thousand 151 quintals of vermi compost and 4 lakh 6 thousand 831 quintals of super compost have been produced in Gauthans, out of which fertilizer worth Rs 79.78 crore has been sold so far. He also gave information about pasture development in the state.

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Chairman of Gau Seva Aayog Dr. Mahant Ram Sundar Das, members of the Commission, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu and other officers were also present on the occasion.
