Ms Aitipamula Ooha, a 26-year-old student from the Other Backward Class (OBC) community, is pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur with financial support under the PM-YASASVI Scheme.

Coming from a lower-middle-class family, Ooha grew up in circumstances where financial resources were limited. Her father is a photographer, and due to family responsibilities and the lack of a stable job, he continued working as a photographer throughout his life. Despite these circumstances, her parents were always keen on providing their children with education and encouraged Ooha to pursue her aspirations.

Ooha has always aspired to become an administrative officer. Her determination to build a better future led her to pursue higher education, and she is currently working towards her MBA at IIM Raipur. While her immediate focus is on completing her MBA, she continues to keep her long-term aspiration of becoming an administrative officer.

Securing admission to IIM Raipur was a significant achievement for Ooha and her family. However, the approximately ₹20 lakh fee associated with the MBA programme created a major financial challenge. "Securing my MBA seat was a very big thing for my family, but the fee of around ₹20 lakh was scary. We took a loan without any collateral and hoped for the best. When I received the PM-YASASVI scholarship, my family was very relieved. We are grateful for the support and hope that I can continue my studies without the burden of such financial pressure."

With the financial burden reduced through the scholarship support, Ooha is now able to continue her MBA journey at IIM Raipur with greater confidence. The assistance has provided her family with much-needed relief at a time when financing higher education was a major concern.
