भारत सरकार के इस्पात सचिव श्री संदीप पौंड्रिक (आई.ए.एस.) ने आज अपने एक दिवसीय प्रवास के दौरान सेल-भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र (बीएसपी) का विस्तृत दौरा किया। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ सेल के अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक (अतिरिक्त प्रभार) श्री कृष्ण कुमार सिंह और इस्पात मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव श्री अभिजीत नरेंद्र भी उपस्थित रहे। भिलाई निवास पहुंचने पर अतिथियों का स्वागत निदेशक प्रभारी श्री चित्त रंजन महापात्र और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों द्वारा किया गया, जहाँ सीआईएसएफ के जवानों ने उन्हें गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर प्रदान किया।

इसके पश्चात इस्पात सचिव ने 'इस्पात भवन' में संयंत्र के शीर्ष प्रबंधन और कार्यपालक निदेशकों के साथ एक महत्वपूर्ण समीक्षा बैठक की। बैठक के दौरान कार्यपालक निदेशक (रावघाट) श्री अरुण कुमार ने रावघाट परियोजना की प्रगति पर सारगर्भित प्रस्तुति दी, जबकि सुश्री शालिनी चौरसिया ने संयंत्र के उत्पादन प्रदर्शन, तकनीकी-आर्थिक मानकों और वित्तीय स्थिति का विवरण प्रस्तुत किया। चर्चा के दौरान श्री संदीप पौंड्रिक ने संयंत्र की कार्यक्षमता की सराहना करते हुए प्रबंधन को भविष्य के लिए और अधिक महत्वाकांक्षी लक्ष्य निर्धारित करने तथा स्थायी रूप से उत्पादन लागत में कमी लाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया।

क्षेत्रीय भ्रमण के क्रम में इस्पात सचिव सर्वप्रथम मुख्य द्वार स्थित सुरक्षा उत्कृष्टता केंद्र पहुंचे, जहाँ उन्होंने संयंत्र की सुरक्षा व्यवस्थाओं का जायजा लिया। इसके बाद उन्होंने कोक ओवन बैटरी नंबर 8 की प्रोजेक्ट साइट का निरीक्षण किया और वहां चल रहे कार्यों के संबंध में आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश साझा किए। संयंत्र का भ्रमण संपन्न करने के बाद, सभी गणमान्य अतिथियों को पुनः गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर दिया गया, जिसके पश्चात वे रायपुर के लिए रवाना हुए। इस उच्च स्तरीय बैठक और दौरे में संयंत्र के सभी विभागों के मुख्य महाप्रबंधक एवं अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी उपस्थित रहे।

Shri Sandeep Poundrik (IAS), Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Steel, conducted a comprehensive visit to SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) during his one-day stay today. He was accompanied by Shri Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) & Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge) of SAIL, and Shri Abhijit Narendra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel. Upon their arrival at Bhilai Niwas, the dignitaries were welcomed by Director-in-Charge (SAIL-BSP) Shri Chittaranjan Mohapatra and other senior officials, followed by a Guard of Honour presented by CISF personnel.

Subsequently, the Steel Secretary chaired a high-level review meeting with the senior management and Executive Directors at 'Ispat Bhavan'. During the meeting, Shri Arun Kumar, Executive Director (Rowghat), delivered a concise presentation on the progress of the Rowghat project, while Ms. Shalini Chaurasia presented a detailed report on the plant's production performance, techno-economic parameters, and financial status. Appreciating the operational efficiency of the plant, Shri Sandeep Poundrik encouraged the management to set more ambitious targets for the future and emphasized the need for a permanent reduction in production costs.

Commencing his field visit, the Steel Secretary first visited the Safety Excellence Centre at the Main Gate, where he reviewed the plant's safety protocols. This was followed by an inspection of the Project Site at Coke Oven Battery No. 8, where he shared vital suggestions and directives regarding ongoing works. Concluding the visit, the dignitaries were accorded another Guard of Honour before their departure for Raipur. The meeting and site visit saw the presence of Executive Directors, Chief General Managers, and other senior officers from various departments of the plant.
