Hare Krishna Movement’s Sri Sri Radha Krishna Chandra Mandir celebrated Gaura Purnima & Holi Mahotsav on March 3, 2026. The day being the auspicious appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (who is also known as Gauranga due to His golden complexion), inaugurated the Sankirtana movement  540 years ago marks the beginning of the New Year for Gaudiya Vaishnavas & hence all the devotees fasted till moon rise on this day. 

The celebrations at the temple began in the evening with an Arati for Their Lordships Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga (Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu). After this, an elaborate abhishekam was performed to Their Lordships. Their Lordships were bathed with various items such as milk, curd, ghee, honey, jaggery water, fruit juices and sacred water of 7 holy rivers from 108 kalashas. The abhisheka ceremony also includes a special arati accompanied by the Gaura Arati song. This is followed by 56 varieties offering of food stuff. 

A grand flower bedecked pallaki carrying The Deities of Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga were taken for a processional journey within the temple precincts accompanied by devotees performing a grand sankirtana. The atmosphere resounded with the loud chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra accompanied by musical instruments.

As soon as the procession of the pallaki started the whole atmosphere reverberated with the fun and frolic celebrations of Holi. Different colored flowers were showered on the deities and all the devotees who had assembled in the temple were dancing and singing in ecstasy. Colors of different shades were being pumped into the air and the whole spectacle was a sight to behold. 

The celebration ended with a sumptuous feast prasadam being served to all the assembled devotees.
