The state-level Youth Festival aimed at providing national recognition to the talent, energy and creative potential of the youth of Chhattisgarh was grandly inaugurated on Tuesday evening at Bahtarai Stadium in Bilaspur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the three-day festival and unveiled the mascot ‘Mor Veer’, the theme song and the Khelo India Torch of Khelo India Tribal Games Chhattisgarh 2026 by pressing the remote button.
Chief Minister Shri Sai paid floral tributes and bowed before the statue of social reformer Swami Vivekananda. At the inauguration ceremony, players from the Abujhmarh region presented an excellent Mallakhamb performance. The Khelo India Torch was unveiled by women ‘kabaddi’ player Ms Sanju Devi and athletics player Shri Amit Kumar.
Addressing the youth, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that youth are the future of the country and the state. The state government is working with full commitment to promote youth in every field including education, employment, skill development and sports. This Youth Festival is not only a platform to recognise the talents of youth, but also a strong medium to take them to the national level.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced incentives for players for their excellent performance in Khelo India, a special incentive amount of Rs 1 lakh for Mallakhamb players, and that the entire travel expenses to and from the United States for Mallakhamb player Antai Potai, selected for America’s Got Talent, will be borne by the state government. He said that more than 3,000 youth from across the state are participating in this Youth Festival, showcasing their talent in 14 cultural and literary disciplines, including 8 group and 6 solo categories. Winners of folk dance, folk song, debate, painting and poetry writing will represent Chhattisgarh at the National Youth Festival to be held in New Delhi in the year 2026.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the participation of more than 1.65 lakh youth in the Bastar Olympics is proof that Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving forward towards peace, development and positive transformation after becoming free from Naxalism. There are immense possibilities for sports in tribal regions, and the government is identifying talent from these areas and promoting them.
Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu said that the country progresses through the creative thinking of youth, and the Central and State Governments are continuously striving together for a bright future for the youth.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao announced that Olympic-level sports events will also be organised in the Surguja region in the coming times.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that Bastar is changing and today the youth of tribal areas are hoisting the flag of their talent on the national platform.
On this occasion, Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal, MLAs Shri Amar Agrawal, Shri Dharamjit Singh, Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Shri Sushant Shukla, Mayor Smt Pooja Vidhani, CREDA Chairman Shri Bhupendra Sawanni, Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation Chairman Shri Raja Pandey, along with a large number of public representatives, players and youth were present.

छत्तीसगढ़ के युवाओं की प्रतिभा, ऊर्जा और रचनात्मक क्षमता को राष्ट्रीय पहचान दिलाने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय युवा महोत्सव का आज बिलासपुर के बहतराई स्टेडियम में भव्य शुभारंभ हुआ। मुख्यमंत्री श्री विष्णु देव साय ने तीन दिवसीय इस महोत्सव का उद्घाटन करते हुए खेलो इंडिया ट्राइबल गेम्स छत्तीसगढ़ 2026 के शुभंकर ‘मोर वीर’, थीम सॉन्ग एवं खेलो इंडिया टॉर्च का रिमोट बटन दबाकर अनावरण किया।
मुख्यमंत्री श्री साय ने युवाओं के प्रेरणास्रोत स्वामी विवेकानंद की प्रतिमा पर श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित कर नमन किया। उद्घाटन समारोह में अबूझमाड़ क्षेत्र के खिलाड़ियों द्वारा मलखंब की उत्कृष्ट प्रस्तुति दी गई। महिला कबड्डी खिलाड़ी संजू देवी एवं एथलेटिक्स खिलाड़ी श्री अमित कुमार द्वारा खेलो इंडिया टॉर्च का अनावरण किया गया।
मुख्यमंत्री श्री साय ने युवाओं को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि युवा ही देश और प्रदेश का भविष्य हैं। राज्य सरकार शिक्षा, रोजगार, कौशल विकास और खेल सहित हर क्षेत्र में युवाओं को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए पूरी प्रतिबद्धता के साथ कार्य कर रही है। यह युवा महोत्सव न केवल युवाओं की प्रतिभाओं को पहचान देने का मंच है, बल्कि उन्हें राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक पहुँचाने का सशक्त माध्यम भी है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने इस अवसर पर खेलो इंडिया में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले खिलाड़ियों को प्रोत्साहन राशि देने, मलखंब खिलाड़ियों को एक लाख रुपये की विशेष प्रोत्साहन राशि प्रदान करने तथा अमेरिका गॉट टैलेंट में चयनित मलखंब खिलाड़ी अनतई पोटाई के अमेरिका आने-जाने का सम्पूर्ण व्यय राज्य सरकार द्वारा वहन किए जाने की घोषणा की। उन्होंने कहा कि इस युवा महोत्सव में प्रदेशभर से 3,000 से अधिक युवा भाग ले रहे हैं, जो 14 सांस्कृतिक एवं साहित्यिक विधाओंकृ8 दलीय एवं 6 एकलकृमें अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। लोकनृत्य, लोकगीत, वाद-विवाद, चित्रकला और कविता लेखन की विजेता प्रतिभाएँ वर्ष 2026 में नई दिल्ली में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय युवा उत्सव में छत्तीसगढ़ का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगी।
मुख्यमंत्री श्री साय ने कहा कि बस्तर ओलंपिक में 1 लाख 65 हजार से अधिक युवाओं की सहभागिता यह प्रमाण है कि छत्तीसगढ़ नक्सलवाद से मुक्त होकर शांति, विकास और सकारात्मक परिवर्तन की दिशा में तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ रहा है। जनजातीय अंचलों में खेलों की अपार संभावनाएँ हैं और सरकार इन क्षेत्रों की प्रतिभाओं को पहचान कर उन्हें आगे बढ़ा रही है।
केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री श्री तोखन साहू ने कहा कि युवाओं की सृजनशील सोच से ही देश आगे बढ़ता है और केंद्र व राज्य सरकारें मिलकर युवाओं के उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए निरंतर प्रयासरत हैं।
उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरुण साव ने घोषणा की कि आने वाले समय में सरगुजा अंचल में भी ओलंपिक-स्तरीय खेल आयोजनों का आयोजन किया जाएगा।
उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री विजय शर्मा ने कहा कि बस्तर बदल रहा है और आज जनजातीय क्षेत्रों के युवा राष्ट्रीय मंच पर अपनी प्रतिभा का परचम लहरा रहे हैं।
इस अवसर पर संस्कृति एवं पर्यटन मंत्री श्री राजेश अग्रवाल, विधायकगण श्री अमर अग्रवाल, श्री धर्मजीत सिंह, श्री धरमलाल कौशिक, श्री सुशांत शुक्ला, महापौर श्रीमती पूजा विधानी, क्रेडा अध्यक्ष श्री भूपेंद्र सवन्नी, छत्तीसगढ़ पाठ्यपुस्तक निगम अध्यक्ष श्री राजा पांडे सहित बड़ी संख्या में जनप्रतिनिधि, खिलाड़ी और युवा उपस्थित थे।
