The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur successfully hosted an educational visit of students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajnandgaon under the Prime Minister Shri School (PM SHRI) Scheme on 15th October 2025. The programme was jointly coordinated by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Club of NIT Raipur.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur; Dr. Manoj Chopkar, Dean (Student Welfare); Dr. Sudhakar Pandey, Regional Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Club; Dr. T. P. Sahu, Faculty In-charge, National Service Scheme; and Dr. Govardhan Bhatt, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. Faculty members and students from both NIT Raipur and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajnandgaon participated in the programme.
Welcoming the students and teachers, Dr. Ramana Rao highlighted the objectives of the PM Shri School Scheme and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing their focus on promoting innovation, creativity, and excellence in education. He expressed confidence that the visit would inspire young minds and nurture curiosity-driven learning.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jhariya encouraged students to dream big and work persistently toward their goals. He advised them to utilize their time wisely and cultivate the habit of reading regularly. Dr. Bhatt underlined the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body and urged the students to perform at least one good deed every day. Dr. Pandey, during his interaction, motivated the students to find a meaningful purpose in life and pursue it with determination and dedication. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sahu.
Following the formal proceedings, the visiting students were taken on a guided campus tour, where they explored NIT Raipur’s modern academic and research infrastructure, including the sports complex, smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, and other key facilities.
The students displayed great enthusiasm, actively engaged with the hosts, and asked insightful questions. The visit proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience, fostering a spirit of curiosity, learning, and aspiration among the young participants.
