The National Institute of Technology, Raipur, came alive with music, rhythm, and vibrant colours as its Dance Club ‘Nrityam’ hosted the much-awaited Garba Eve – Rangtaari on Friday. The evening witnessed an overwhelming participation of students, faculty, staff, and their families, who joined in the traditional celebration with infectious enthusiasm.

Dr. (Mrs.) A. B. Soni, Director (In-charge), NIT Raipur, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Manoj Kumar Chopkar, Professors-in-Charge of the Cultural Committee Dr. Suvendu Rup and Dr. Moksha Singh, Faculty-in-Charges Dr. Anil Manjhi and Dr. Shruti S. Nagdeve, along with faculty members, were present on the occasion.

The event began with a ceremonial welcome of the guests by presenting saplings, followed by the worship of the portrait of Maa Durga. What followed was a captivating series of performances — including the lively Bolly Garba and the innovative Salsa Garba presented by the members of the Nrityam Club. Their spellbinding moves set the tone for the evening, filling the venue with festive energy.

Soon after, the floor was thrown open, inviting students and teachers alike to immerse themselves in the Garba fervour. Dressed in traditional Ghaghra-Choli and Kedia attire, participants danced in unison to popular tracks like Kesariya, Dholida, and Nagada Sang Dhol.

The grand celebration transformed the campus into a scene of joy and cultural vibrancy, reaffirming NIT Raipur’s spirit of togetherness and tradition. The evening concluded with spirited dances and smiling faces, marking yet another memorable cultural milestone for the institute.
