 August 29, 2025.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur recently and successfully concluded a two-day Management Development Program (MDP) on "Project Management & Execution" for the Foundation of Ecological Security (FES). The program was tailored to meet the specific developmental needs of mid-level professionals working in ecological and community-driven projects.

Co-directed by Prof. Jagrook Dawra and Prof. M. Ramkumar, the MDP provided a comprehensive learning experience to enhance the project leadership capabilities of participants, enabling them to translate long-term ecological goals into actionable field strategies.

The program offered an intensive curriculum including themes such as strategic-to-operational planning, modern project management frameworks tailored for the NGO sector, critical chain thinking, financial planning in grant-funded projects, stakeholder management, project scheduling, and conflict resolution. Sessions were conducted by distinguished faculty members, Prof. Jagrook Dawra (Strategic Planning), Prof. M. Ramkumar (Project Lifecycle and Delays), Prof. Ranjan Dasgupta (Project Finance), Prof. Rajeev A. (Time and Cost Estimation), Prof. Parikshit Charan (Monitoring & Control), Prof. Ritu Gupta (Stakeholder Communication), Prof. Archana Parashar (Negotiation & Conflict Management).

The pedagogical approach combined participatory learning, case-based discussions, practice-oriented exercises, and simulations tailored to the ecological development context. This encouraged participants to reflect on their field experiences while acquiring new project execution skills.

The program concluded with a valedictory ceremony, graced by Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge, IIM Raipur. He commended the collaborative spirit of FES and appreciated the institute's engagement in building capacity for ecological sustainability. The session also featured reflections by the Program Directors, followed by certificate distribution and a vote of thanks.

This program highlights IIM Raipur’s ongoing commitment to developing socially conscious leadership and strengthening the capabilities of institutions working at the intersection of ecology and community development.
