On the auspicious occasion of Srimati Radharani’s appearance day  Sri Radhashtami, on August 31st, Hare Krishna Movement celebrated this day with Bhajans, kirtans, Abhisheka and divine offerings. 

Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra were gorgeously dressed with ornaments and fragrant flowers. All through the day They received special sevas by the devotees who were seen seeking their blessings. An offering of 108 types of special preparations were also served. In the evening a special abhisheka and a grand Arati with special bhajans glorifying Srimati Radharani was sung.

Explaining the glories of Srimati Radharani the President of Hare Krishna Movement, Sri Vyomapada Dasa, said that Srimati Radharani’s love and devotion to Lord Sri Krishna and Her complete surrender is the highest pinnacle of perfection of life. She is the embodiment of perfection in service and attitude and all aspiring devotees of Lord Sri Krishna should constantly pray for Srimati Radharani’s blessings and mercy so that they can get Krishna Bhakti and progress in their spiritual life. The various lilas of Srimati Radharani and Lord Krishna in the divine and holy land of Braj were all remembered and meditated upon by all the devotees. 

Special Features of celebrations at Hare Krishna Movement, Bhilai

Special Alankara; On this auspicious occasion the Deities of Sri Sri Radha Radha KrishnaChandra adorned with a new dress. The altar was decorated with brilliant, colorful flowers which spread their fragrance everywhere.

Maha Abhishekam: In the evening at 7.00pm, the utsavar Deities (Vigraha) of Sri Sri Radha Krishna Chandra received a splendid abhisheka..Thousands of devotees visited the temple to witness the celebration. The Deities are bathed with milk, curd, ghee, honey and jiggery water followed by juices from varieties of fruits like muskmelon, apple, watermelon, pineapple, pomegranate, orange, sweet lime, papaya, grapes etc. An elaborate arati was performed with various sizes and shapes of lamps to the lord as the devotees sing Radhikastava written by Srila Rupa Gosvami. 

After the arati, the Deities were bathed with sanctified water from 108 kalashas called as ‘Kalasha Abhisheka’ collected from 7 Holy Rivers along with recitation of Vedic Hymns called ‘Purusha Sukta’ by the Devotees. This is followed by the showering of different varieties of flowers like Juhi, Jasmine, Rajanigandha, Lilly, Nagachampa, Carnations, Marigold, English Rose Etc obtained from various parts of the country. 

Rajbhog - 108 varieties of delicacies prepared by devotees was offered to Sri Sri Radha KrishnaChandra at 12 noon.

Shayana Arati & Palaki Utsav – Lord was taken on a ride seated on a Grand Palaki Decorated with different varieties of flowers like Carnations, English Rose, Jasmine, Juhi Etc. at 8.30pm after Shayana Arati, an offering of traditional lamps at 8.15pm. At the end of the ceremony, shayana arati was performed while devotees sang a beautiful song describing the extraordinary qualities and the super-excellent position of Radharani.

राधा अष्टमी महोत्सव

भिलाई के सेक्टर-६ अक्षय पात्र प्रांगण में स्थित, हरे कृष्णा मूवमेंट में राधा अष्टमी  महोत्सव का आयोजन किया गया। राधा अष्टमी कृष्ण जी की प्रिया श्रीमती राधारानी के आविर्भाव की पावन तिथि है।  श्रीमती राधा रानी का जन्मोत्सव भाद्रपद मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है।  कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी के पंद्रह दिन बाद जन्माष्टमी की तरह राधाअष्टमी का त्योहार भी भिलाई के हरे कृष्णा मंदिर में बड़े जोर-शोर के साथ मनाया गया।  

राधा रानी के पिता नाम वृषभानु और माता का नाम कीर्ति था। राधा जी स्वंय लक्ष्मी स्वरूपा हैं।  भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के लिए वृंदावन की गोपियों द्वारा किया गया प्रेम, सर्वोच्च प्रेम है। यह प्रेम, स्वार्थ की भावना एवं भौतिक लालसा से रहित है। गोपियां, जीवात्मा के भगवान के प्रति प्रेम की प्रतिमूर्ति हैं क्योंकि भगवान की प्रसन्नता ही उनके जीवन का एकमात्र लक्ष्य है। सभी गोपियों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ गोपी श्रीमती राधारानी है एवं सभी भक्तों के लिए आदर्श हैं।

राधा अष्टमी के दिन मंदिर में भगवान श्री राधा कृष्ण का दिव्य अलंकार किया गया।संपूर्ण मंदिर को पुष्पों से सुसज्जित किया गया।शाम 6:30 बजे से संध्या आरती एवं कीर्तन से उत्सव का आरंभ हुआ,जिसमें भगवान के नाम के दिव्य मंत्र उच्चारण से संपूर्ण वातावरण गुंजायमान हो गया।इसी समय भगवान श्री राधा कृष्ण का दिव्य अभिषेक किया गया।भगवान की महा आरती पश्चात दिव्य पालकी उत्सव का आयोजन हुआ।उस  समय विभिन्न फूलों से आच्छादित रंगायमान परिसर अत्यंत रमणीय दिखाई पड़ता था।

सभी भक्तों को  भगवान का प्रसाद वितरित किया गया।
