 Chhattisgarh Government's Housing and Environment Department has issued guidelines on the use of loudspeakers for New Year's Eve celebrations.The use of loudspeakers in New Year programmes will be permitted from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight on the nights of December 31 and January 1, 2023, as per the guidelines issued by the Collector and the Superintendent of Police.

 In this regard, all district collectors and superintendents of police have been asked to ensure arrangements under noise pollution rules.  Instructions have been given to ensure wide publicity and strict compliance of the instructions of the Noise Pollution Rules.  In the instructions issued by the Housing and Environment Department, it has been said that like the previous years, various programs are likely to be organised by the citizens and organisations of the state on the occasion of New Year.  

In view of the increase in the level of pollution due to noise pollution generated from these events, using the powers conferred under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, various programs to be organised in the state on the arrival of New Year, December 31, 2022 and January 1, 2023  Permission should be given to use loudspeaker and public address system from 10 pm to 12 midnight, subject to the criteria prescribed in the Noise Pollution Rules.
