The ministry of external affairs(MEA) announced on Friday that president Smt. dropadi murmu will Undertake state visit to Moldova,North mecodinia and Romania from july 19- 25 aiming to boost bilateral ties with these countries. Shrimati murmu three Nation visit complements India's broader engagement with Europe and the strategic partnership with the European Union the MEA stated. interacting with reporters here MEA secretary (west )sibi George said three Nations visit is of considerable historic significent as it marks the first bilateral visit by an Indian President to the Republic of moldova and the Republic of north mecedonia."shri Vijay Baghel, the MP from the Durg Lok Sabha constituency, will also travel to these countries as part of the delegation accompanying the Hon'ble President, Smt. Murmu.
Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu will embark on State Visits to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania from 19-25 July 2026.
Hon’ble President Murmu will visit Moldova on 20 July 2026 at the invitation of the President of Moldova, H.E. Ms. Maia Sandu. This is the first ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova.
During her visit, Hon'ble President will meet and hold delegation level talks with her counterpart, H.E. President Maia Sandu. She will also meet President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Mr. Igor Grosu. She will also have interaction with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, address a Business Forum and have interactions with the members of Indian Community.
India and Moldova enjoy warm and friendly relations. This visit would mark a significant and historical milestone and elevate bilateral ties to a broad-based partnership. There is good scope for mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, IT and education.
At the invitation of President of North Macedonia H.E. Ms. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will also visit North Macedonia from 21-22 July 2026. This will be the first ever visit by an Indian President to North Macedonia.
Hon'ble President will hold bilateral talks with H.E. President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, meet the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, President of the Assembly and also address the Assembly of North Macedonia. She will also address India - North Macedonia Business Forum. Both sides have keen interest in deepening economic ties in the priority sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals science and technology, IT and ITES.
At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Nicușor Dan, President of Romania, Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will also visit Romania from 23 – 25 July 2026. This would be the first visit by the President of India, after a gap of over three decades.
During the visit, President Murmu will meet H.E. Mr. Nicușor Dan, President of Romania, H.E. Mr. Ilie Bolojan, interim Prime Minister of Romania, H.E. Mr. Mircea Abrudean, President of the Senate, and H.E. Mr. Sorin Grindeanu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, as well as members of the Romania–India Parliamentary Friendship Group. President Murmu will also address India-Romania Business Forum and have internaction with the members of the Indian community.
Romania is a valuable partner in the European Union and with the conclusion of India-EU Free Trade Agreement, bilateral economic partnership would strengthen further in the coming years.
The State Visit to three counties by the Hon,ble President reflects the importance India attaches to strengthening its bilateral ties with these countries alongwith India’s engagement with the wider Eastern European region.
