पद्मश्री से सम्मानित प्रख्यात नेत्र रोग विशेषज्ञ, समाजसेवी तथा अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान, रायपुर के अध्यक्ष डॉ. बुधेन्द्र कुमार जैन का शुक्रवार को दीर्घकालिक अस्वस्थता के बाद निधन हो गया। उनके निधन से चिकित्सा एवं समाज सेवा के क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर है।

डॉ. जैन ने चिकित्सा सेवा और समाज कल्याण के क्षेत्र में पाँच दशकों से अधिक समय तक उल्लेखनीय योगदान दिया। चित्रकूट स्थित सद्गुरु नेत्र चिकित्सालय, चित्रकूट के माध्यम से उन्होंने लाखों नेत्र रोगियों को नई दृष्टि प्रदान की और उनके जीवन में आशा का संचार किया। वर्ष 2025 में भारत सरकार ने उन्हें उनके उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया था।

एम्स रायपुर के अध्यक्ष के रूप में उनका मार्गदर्शन संस्थान के लिए प्रेरणादायी रहा। उनके दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व, सादगी और मानवीय संवेदनशीलता ने संस्थान की कार्यसंस्कृति को सेवा-उन्मुख और सशक्त बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

एम्स रायपुर के कार्यकारी निदेशक लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल अशोक जिंदल (सेवानिवृत्त) ने शोक व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि डॉ. जैन का निधन चिकित्सा जगत और समाज सेवा के क्षेत्र के लिए अपूरणीय क्षति है। उन्होंने अपना संपूर्ण जीवन सेवा, करुणा और मानवता के उत्थान के लिए समर्पित किया। उनका मार्गदर्शन सदैव प्रेरणास्रोत रहेगा।

डॉ. जैन के निधन से एम्स रायपुर परिवार गहरे शोक में है। संस्थान के फैकल्टी सदस्य, चिकित्सक, अधिकारी, कर्मचारी और विद्यार्थी इस दुखद समाचार से व्यथित हैं। एम्स परिवार ने दिवंगत आत्मा की शांति के लिए प्रार्थना करते हुए शोक संतप्त परिजनों के प्रति गहरी संवेदना व्यक्त की है।

Padma Shri Dr. Budhendra Kumar Jain Passes Away; Medical Fraternity Mourns the Loss

Padma Shri awardee, eminent ophthalmologist and noted social worker Dr. Budhendra Kumar Jain, President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur, passed away on Friday following a prolonged illness. His demise has left the medical fraternity and social service community in deep mourning.

Dr. Jain dedicated over five decades to medical service and social welfare. Through the Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot, he restored vision to lakhs of patients, bringing hope and light into countless lives. In 2025, he was conferred the Padma Shri by the Government of India in recognition of his outstanding contribution to healthcare and society.

As President of AIIMS Raipur, his guidance and visionary leadership played a pivotal role in strengthening the institution’s service-oriented work culture. He was widely respected for his simplicity, compassion and unwavering commitment to public service.

Expressing his condolences, the Executive Director of AIIMS Raipur, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal (Retd.), said that Dr. Jain’s passing is an irreparable loss to the field of medicine and social service. He noted that Dr. Jain devoted his entire life to service, compassion and the upliftment of humanity, and that his ideals and values would continue to inspire generations.

The entire AIIMS Raipur family — including faculty members, doctors, officers, staff and students — has expressed profound grief over the sad demise and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Prayers have been offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
