The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur inaugurated its 9th Leadership Summit, a two-day flagship event, on August 23 at the Madai Auditorium on the IIM Raipur campus. Centered on the theme “The CXO Compass: Navigating Beyond Boundaries to Build Future Ready Organisations”, the 9th Leadership Summit has brought together prominent corporate leaders and experts from various industries to discuss leadership in the evolving business landscape. The event was graced by keynote addresses from the Chief Guest, Sandeep Singh, Managing Director, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery.
In his welcome note, Prof. Mohit Goswami, Chairperson of Corporate Relations and Placement, IIM Raipur, emphasized that through these platforms, we can have dialogues about the modern-day challenges like trade wars that demand us to think beyond conventional approaches; they call for innovative strategies that turn global uncertainties into opportunities for growth and resilience.
Prof. Saroj Kumar Pani, Dean Academics, IIM Raipur, said, “The true leadership blends influence with empathy and discipline.” Citing Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s reflection on finding bliss through serving differently-abled children, he highlighted that leaders derive lasting happiness from purpose, acceptance, and responsibility, values that prepare IIM students to become future-ready business leaders.
In his keynote address, Chief Guest Sandeep Singh urged the students to embrace self-evaluation, regulation, and motivation as cornerstones of leadership. Reflecting on his journey, he underscored that true learning outweighs language or circumstance. Sharing insights on the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process, he underlined discipline, alignment, and perseverance in achieving excellence. Stressing balance in work and life, he encouraged students to value relationships, maintain fitness, and face challenges with purpose, concluding with the inspiring call: “Chalo Desh Banaye.”
Themes like “The Strategic Shift: Virtues that Set CXOs Apart” underscored the transition from functional expertise to enterprise-wide vision, emphasizing agility, resilience, and cross-functional leadership, “People First: The Significant Business Strategy for Organizations” highlighted the role of trust, collaboration, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in building high-performing teams and “Embracing Disruptions: Leading in a Constantly Evolving World of Business” explored how organizations can balance speed with accountability while making critical decisions in disruptive environments.
