Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the country’s largest public sector steel producer and a Maharatna company, in collaboration with MyGov, announced the results of the SAIL Story Writing Competition–2025 on Tuesday. The nationwide competition, held on the theme “SAIL: Building a Culture of Happiness, Where Every Smile Matters”, received an overwhelming response, with nearly 1,000 entries showcasing the deep connection people have with SAIL’s legacy and its role in India’s development and public welfare.
Bhilai’s Saurabh Mishra made the city and Chhattisgarh proud by winning the bronze award in the Hindi category. He will receive ₹2,500 in cash and a certificate. The diamond award in the Hindi category was bagged by Kirti Singh from Lucknow, while the gold went to Pravinta Kumari Lama of Ranchi and the silver to Nitu Kumari of Burnpur. Hema Kumari Thayal of Rourkela received the consolation prize.
In the English category, the diamond award was won by Chanchala Borah from Bengaluru, with Usha J of Bhadravati winning gold, T. Avinash of Hyderabad securing silver, and Priya Mandal of Durgapur winning bronze. The consolation prize in English went to Snehal Pawar of Navi Mumbai.
Congratulating the winners, SAIL Chairman and Managing Director Amarendu Prakash said, “Heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the SAIL Story Writing Competition–2025! This year’s theme truly resonated, and it’s inspiring to see that 80% of the winners are women. The diverse stories received from across the country beautifully illustrate how SAIL steel forms the foundation of the nation’s progress and how the company is dedicated to enriching people’s lives.”
The competition was launched in February 2025, inviting creative stories of up to 800 words in Hindi or English from all Indian citizens, including current and retired SAIL employees and their families. The winning stories may also feature in SAIL’s in-house magazine SAIL News, giving them a wider readership.
SAIL said the initiative aims to encourage creativity, celebrate human stories and further strengthen its bond with the people of India, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering happiness and well-being nationwide.
भिलाई के सौरभ मिश्रा को सेल कहानी लेखन प्रतियोगिता में कांस्य पुरस्कार
स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (सेल) और MyGov द्वारा आयोजित “सेल कहानी लेखन प्रतियोगिता–2025” के नतीजों का मंगलवार को एलान किया गया। देश भर से लगभग 1,000 प्रविष्टियां प्राप्त हुईं। प्रतियोगिता का विषय था — “सेल: खुशियों की संस्कृति का निर्माण, जहां हर मुस्कान मायने रखती है”।
इस प्रतियोगिता में भिलाई के सौरभ मिश्रा ने हिंदी श्रेणी में कांस्य पुरस्कार जीतकर छत्तीसगढ़ का गौरव बढ़ाया। उन्हें 2,500 रुपये नकद और प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान किया जाएगा। हिंदी श्रेणी में लखनऊ की कीर्ति सिंह ने डायमंड अवार्ड जीता, जबकि रांची की प्रविन्ता कुमारी लामा को गोल्ड और बर्नपुर की नीतू कुमारी को सिल्वर पुरस्कार मिला। राउरकेला की हेमा कुमारी थयाल को सांत्वना पुरस्कार दिया गया।
अंग्रेजी श्रेणी में डायमंड अवार्ड बेंगलुरु की चंचला बोरा को, गोल्ड भद्रावती की उषा जे को, सिल्वर हैदराबाद के टी. अविनाश को और कांस्य दुर्गापुर की प्रिया मंडल को मिला। नवी मुंबई की स्नेहल पवार को सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया।
सेल के अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक अमरेंदु प्रकाश ने सभी विजेताओं को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि इस साल की प्रतियोगिता का विषय बेहद प्रभावशाली रहा। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि विजेताओं में से 80 प्रतिशत महिलाएं हैं, जो एक प्रेरणादायक उपलब्धि है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश भर से आई कहानियों ने यह खूबसूरती से दिखाया कि कैसे सेल देश की तरक्की का आधार है और लोगों के जीवन में खुशहाली ला रहा है।
यह प्रतियोगिता फरवरी 2025 में शुरू की गई थी, जिसमें हिंदी और अंग्रेज़ी में लगभग 800 शब्दों की रचनात्मक कहानियां आमंत्रित की गई थीं। प्रतिभागियों में सेल के मौजूदा व सेवानिवृत्त कर्मी, उनके परिवार के सदस्य और अन्य नागरिक शामिल थे। विजेता कहानियों को सेल की पत्रिका ‘सेल न्यूज़’ में प्रकाशित करने पर भी विचार किया जा रहा है।
इस पहल के ज़रिए कंपनी ने रचनात्मकता को बढ़ावा देने, मानवीय कहानियों का सम्मान करने और देश के लोगों से अपने जुड़ाव को और गहरा करने की दिशा में एक अहम कदम उठाया है।
