 National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur has commenced a collaboration with Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), Bhilai by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29th July 2023 under the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, inaugurated by Hon’ble P. M. Modi at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

 Under the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, which coincided with the 3rd anniversary of implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), several institutions have signed an MoU as a means of giving invaluable hands-on experience to the youth. NIT Raipur has hence collaborated with BSP Bhilai as per the mandate of (NEP-2020), in which, the academia-industry partnership is an integral component for mutual benefit. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education & Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, Shri K. K. Singh , Director Personal , SAIL and Shri Pawan Kumar, Executive Director (P&A), SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant were present at the signing of MoU.


This collaboration between the institute and the industry will not only prove beneficial for the students by providing them exposure and practical knowledge, but also for the stakeholders of both the organizations. It shall pave the way for conducting various skill development programs, faculty development programs, industrial training & visits, training courses for students and faculty members, seminars & webinars on technical skills, programs on new emerging technologies, and joint & articulated degree programs to aid in the development of students and personnel. It will serve as a motivation for budding students, facilitate joint teaching, research, or cultural activity; and shall contribute to staff professional development, placement support and mobility of faculty members, scholars, and students between institutions.

The MoU has been successfully signed and is set to provide quality education and experience to the youth of the nation, and succour in the progress, development, and betterment of the country.
